CRM 2011 Custom Activity Attachment Problem RRS feed

  • Hi all,

    I create a new custom activity. Notes enabled. But in my form ribbon, include attachment is not visible. For adding an attachment you have to go notes, add note, open note and add attachment. Is there any parameter for open to Include tab on ribbon? Or any defined command?

  • Hi,

    Make sure to verify if the custom Actvity entity has Notes (Include Attachments) option checked under entity properties (Settings-> Customization->Customizations->Customize the System->Entitities , click on you custom actvity entity )

    if it is enable and notes are still not visible then try go in Actvity Entity form customization ((Settings-> Customization->Customizations->Customize the System->Entitities-><Custom Activity Entity> ->Forms) and check if Notes Tab/Section/Grid are not hidden (can check by double click on tab, section etc) if Notes Tab/Section/Grid is not visible on the Actvity Customization Form then in Insert Tab click on Notes to insert Notes grid in form

    Save and Publish form and recheck.

    Did you manage to solve this?

    I have also a custom activity with notes added.

     

    The problem here is the same as yours, that the attach file button is not visible. I can add notes (text), but not file attachment becuase i dont have the button to do this.

    Do I have to manually add fileattachment button on the ribbons, if so how?

     

    PS. (none of the answers are correct, as this seem to be a bug)

    Notes are added to the form and is visible + the activty is saved.

    Edit: I can add attachment, but then I have to create a notetext, right click on notetext, open, then attachfile, then close. But this is not a favorable soloution.

  • Gaute - did you ever find a solution?  I'm running into the very same thing with a couple of custom activties I created (Notes, but no Attachments)

  • The only way to attach is to create the note, then double click it to open the attachment window.

  • Hi all,

    The "Attach File" ribbon button is located under the "Add" tab in the CRM ribbon by default. The "Add" tab is only available once "Activities" are enabled on your custom entity.

    To enable this go to Settings > Customisations > Solutions > Open your solution > Entities > Click on your entity > Tick "Activities" > Save and Publish your changes. (NOTE: One you have added Activities they can’t be removed).<o:p></o:p>

    Alternatively, you can add a custom ribbon button to the forms default ribbon tab. A recommended way of doing this would be to use the CRM 2011 Visual Ribbon Editor tool (available from Codeplex). Locate the existing “Attach File” button and look at the properties, use the same JavaScript function location/name on your custom button.

    Muito fácil, se vocês utilizarem a ferramenta Ribbon WorkBench, abra a solution com a entidade (Custom Activity Entity), selecione a tab Add, botão direito no botão Attach File, Customize button, arraste o botão para a tab principal, botão direito no botão e Customize button. Repare que as funções javascript nativas do CRM ficarão habilitadas. Publique a solution novamente. O botão estará visível e funcionando corretamente :)!
