Auto Number Definition producing duplicate reference numbers in CRM 2011 and CRM 2013 RRS feed

  • HI All,

    I have always known that occasionally more than one incident will be issued with the same incident id. As we are creating reports
    at the moment, I have become aware that duplicate references numbers which have been created. Is there any way that it can be stopped generating more than once?.....

  • The easiest way is to change the incident number to be randomly generated instead of incremently.

    Otherwise in CRM 2013 you can utilize real time workflows to generate your own incidentID.. A guide for this can be found on http://niiranen.eu/crm/2013/12/auto-numbering-workflows-real-time-vs-asynchronous/
