My product key is now invalid after rebooting my laptop.. states is invalid key.. RRS feed

  • Question

  • It seems that I cannot run windows at all and am locked out.  I have entered the product key but keeps telling me it is incorrect.  I had to reboot the laptop, after which it ran for a few weeks, and now not sure how to fix this.

I get a build 6000 not genuine response, can't get to the start button to activate..

The problem is that I don't have a phone number for activation, I'm in Australia and seems there is only email support, the product key when entered tells me it is invalid and won't let me start anything except for reduced functionality mode, and I can't get to the computer page to activate this online.  What is the next step??  Surely there is a way to restart ths system?
    Your phone numbers are:-

    Toll-free      1800 642 008
    Toll            +61 9870 2131

In view of your problem seeing anything onscreen. do not respond when asked to enter a number for the service required - that will force an operator to pick up

I notice that your Office is also not Activated - are you sure you're not entering the wrong key?
The Windows Key should be on a Sticker  (the COA SLO Key) on the base of the laptop - and it should also give the same Version of Vista (Home Premium) as that installed.
The Key for Office is in the packaging that came with the disks

  •  The key that I was entering is the one on the bottom of the lap top, and haven't used office since I installed it, so hadn't activated that yet either.  So not sure why the key on the bottom of the laptop doesn't work.  Any other ideas?

There is NO SUCH error as 'BIOS license invalid' in Windows - please repost your EXACT error message to a new thread of you own, so that people don't get confused!

The COA Key on the Sticker will always require telephone activation - just follow the prompts for that. You don't need to  speak to an operator (most of the time) - simply respond to the telephone prompts, assuming you have a touch-tone phone.
