Mapping Wont Work RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I have some custom fields in a Lead that I want to map to an customer fields in the Opportunity entity.

Everything works fine when i create a lead & qualify

    however

ive created a workflow that qualifys a lead, creates an account & opportunity but when this fires, mapped entities dont update.

I was wondering if there was any reason why this wouldnt work?

    Thanks in advance

  • mapping is form(client side) based thats why it works when you qualify the lead from the form.

workflow runs on the server. datamaping does not work in plugins and workflows.

    I hope this helps.

  • What type of fields is it? If its an option set then cannot be mapped. Only global option sets can be mapped.

  • Thanks for your response

They are in fact option sets.

Not sure how to change in option set into being a global one (if this is possible)

what is confusing me is that it works when i do a manual lead creation & qualify

  • If it works manually then it should work using workflow.

May be I am wrong .. May be it might be possible to map optionset value if they are equal. I will have to check.

You cannot convert an Optionset To global you will have to recreate it.
