Yes George the message was showing when I ran it. Personally I believe it has something to do with the latest auto update because of the following:
I used my daughters W 7 laptop two days ago(in another state), as I was using it, for no apparent reason - and no usual warning that updates require a restart, the laptop shut down and restarted. Yesterday when I was using this laptop at home, exactly the same thing happened, but when mine restarted it had the Build 7601 message again and wanted to restart in safe mode(which in the past has taken ages to run). I have now turned off auto updates(there were more available last night). Both machines have up to date virus protection.
In the past the message only comes up after updates.

What AV did the machine come pre-installed with??
(I have to admit to zero knowledge of your current AV - which means that it's probably not the cause of your problems, unless induced by an earlier install)

I think it was Norton, it was about 3 years ago, so am not sure. I uninstalled whatever it was and removed it from the registry.
CA = Computer Associates.

Norton has a very bad rep for leaving stuff behind when uninstalled using native tools - which get in the way months or years later.
Download the Norton Removal Tool from here https://www-secure.symantec.com/norton-support/jsp/help-solutions.jsp?lg=english&ct=united+states&docid=20080710133834EN&product=home&version=1&pvid=f-home
Close all other programs, then run the tool. When it's complete, reboot the machine whether it asks for it or not.
After the reboot, open an Elevated Command Prompt, and run the following command
NETSH WINSOCK RESET
You'll be advised to reboot - do so.
then post another MGADiag report.
