Colour Problem with .dng files RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have been using ICE alongside Photoshop CS5, and am finding it a most interesting program.  I have encountered an odd problem, however.  If I composite a panorama using .dng files. the colour is fine on ICE, but when I save the panorama and then open it in Windows Photo viewer the colour is over-saturated.  If I use HP photo viewer, or Irfanview, the colours seem fine, but the thumbnail in the folder is likewise weirdly coloured.  Even if the thumbnail is strange, the image opens well in the other programs, but not in Windows Photo viewer.

I am using the 64 bit version of Windows 7 Ultimate, the 64 bit ICE, and converting the .dngs in Lightroom.  It happens if I export the .dng files with or without develop settings.

It is only an issue because I was on the verge of saving my images as .dngs rather than raw files, but if this is a compatibility issue I may be changing my mind.

    Anyone else had the problem?
