Activating windows vista after an upgrade followed by a clean install RRS feed

  • Question

  • I replaced ny motherboard and my windows vista would not start and I cold not repair it using windows repair.  I decided to reinstall it but it would not let me reinstall because it was an upgrade and I needed to be running windows already in order to upgrade.  I decided to do a clean install without using the installation code.  After installation I could not activate it using my original activation code.  How can I get around this problem?

  • You'll need to purchase a "Full Version" Windows Vista license:

Microsoft also offers an additional license service by phone to customers who have legally installed Windows Vista and have an immediate need for an additional license. In the United States and Canada, call the Windows Product Activation Call Center at 877-426-6010 for more information.
