duplicate detection on workflow

Hi All,
Senario: i have already an contact record with test name and test email address. and suppose there is one workflow for creating record on other entity with same name or email address.....so in this case wht will happen.....it will stop creating duplicate record or it will create.......

Workflow will create the record even if there is a duplicate. Only when you create the record via the application there will be a warning about the duplicate.

Also, matchcode service runs after every 5 min, os if you will create two record before this time interval, it won't catch duplicate detection.

Workflow will create the record even if there is a duplicate. Only when you create the record via the application there will be a warning about the duplicate.
