OCS edge server -Port issue with Office Communicator RRS feed

  • Question

  • Dear all

can you help me please. the problem is  I am going to map my Access edge server and a/v edge server with one public ip address  like to different port number
(due to 443 port number is already used ):

    (192.168.155.1 )access edge server : 443  ----   200.10.10.1  : 1253  |  dns mapping will be = sip.ocsr2.kin.com = 200.10.10.1  |outside pc communicator = sip.ocsr2.kin.com:1253

    (192.168.155.3) a/v edge server :445 -------      200.10.10.1 : 1254   |  dns maping will be  =  av.ocsr2.kin.com  = 200.10.10.1  |

in the above table  due to the security reasons i have not mention the actual domain name and the PUBLIC IP Address and this setup  i am doing in the test lab and i have only one public ip address  and i am mapping Edge servers with one public ip address and  different port numbers .

Please let me know whether it works or not ?

  • Now voice mail is also working i have open media ports tcp-50,000 to 59,999 and UDP-3478, actually these ports are federation but you have to open for even remote user access- voice call from outside pc communicator to inside pc communicator. thanks  for this forum

  • Just to clarify, only 3478 is used for R2 deployments while the OCS R1 uses the larger 50000-59000 port range.  Supporting federation with OCS R1 Edge servers requires the port range to be opened to your R2 Edge SErver in addition to the individual 3478 port.
