Cannot edit SSIS Script Task – Windows incompatibility?

    Question

  • I'm running Windows 7 Pro, SQL Server 2014 Express, Visual Studio 2013 Pro, .Net 4.6.1, and SQL Server Data Tools – BI for Visual Studio 2013.  VS 2013 starts fine.  I can create an SSIS solution/project, and can drop a Script Task onto the Control Flow screen.  I right click and bring up the Script Task Editor, then click on the “Edit Script” button.  A “Program Compatibility Assistant” pops up and says “Visual Studio 2012 is incompatible with this version of Windows.”  I was expecting another instance of VS 2013 to start.  Why is it looking for VS 2012?

Also, when I go to Tools > Options > Business Intelligence Designers > Integration Services Designers > General  the Script Language drop down lists 2 entries - “Microsoft Visual C# 2012” and “Microsoft Visual Basic 2012”.  Shouldn’t I see VS 2013 language references?  Got any suggestions where things might be confused, including me?

Or what forum should this be in?
