Missing HPC Pack 2008 R2 Job Management Console and Job Schedhuler RRS feed

  • General discussion

  • I am running Windows 2008 HPC R2 server on a headnode with two computational nodes in a cluster. There was a software upgrade that  resulted in the corruption of some files in the HPC Pack software. I tried to reinstall PACK 2008 but unfortunately , there is no downloadable source files for HPC 2008 Pack , just SP2, SP3 and SP4. WHen I tried to install HPC 2008 Pack R2 SP4, it says that the components for SP4 are already installed.

Job Management console and Job schedhuler are missing from Start/programs.

Can any one give me advice as to where these executable files are located and/or how to reinstall them please?

    Thank you.

  • Go to Control Panel\Programs and Features and remove\uninstall all the compnents that start with "Microsoft HPC Pack" manually. You dont need to uninstall SQL server. After that install "HPC Pack 2008 SP4" and configure your Head Node.I suggest to save your current configuration prior clean-up such us network topology, job/node templates, nodegroups etc
