Hello Ronnie,
Is Microsoft Office System 2007 a trial version of Office which came pre-installed with your system or maybe you installed prior to installing Office? When Trial versions of Office are left on the computer and retail versions of Office are subsequently installed alongside the Trial the OGA control sees the Trial version, which cannot be activated or validated. The computer will be flagged as having a non-genuine installation of Office.
You are receiving an error status 104 which is an unknown PID. This could be attributed to a Beta/Trial version of Office currently installed. Another possibility could be some of the beta/trial remnants were left after attempting to uninstall. Please use the trial/beta Office disk and uninstall the software. The Microsoft Office in question may need reinstallation and then uninstall using the disk. Should this fail please look refer to the following Knowledge Base (KB) article http://support.microsoft.com/kb/928218/en-us. Here you will find detailed instructions for uninstalling the Office Suite 2007 Suite as well as beta and trial versions which were unsuccessful while using the “Add or Remove Programs” feature.
Important: This article contains information about how to modify the registry. Make sure that you back up the registry before you modify it. Make sure that you know how to restore the registry if a problem occurs. For more information about how to back up, restore, and modify the registry, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base: “How to back up and restore the registry in Windows XP and Windows Vista” http://support.microsoft.com/kb/322756/
Restart your computer and try validating Office again at http://www.microsoft.com/genuine and clicking the “Validate Office” button. If validation is still failing please follow the steps below and post the results back in the thread:
1) Logon to the PC that is experiencing the notifications as a user with “ADMINISTRATOR” privileges.
2) Download the tool: http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52012 click RUN.
3) When the tool loads, click “CONTINUE”.
4) Is the “RESOLVE” button available? If so, please click “RESOLVE” to allow the diagnostic tool repair the issue.
5) From the Windows tab, click the COPY button.
6) Please reply back to this post and PASTE the entire results into reply of this post.
We can take a look at it and offer you some suggestions as to how to resolve this issue.Should this not work then try to active via the telephone. The following KB article will provide detailed instructions: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/828958. Please let us know if you need further assistance.
