  • Does LCS 2005 SP1 have to ability to re-direct sign-in requests to an OCS 2007 Enterprise Pool?

I am assessing our need for a Director.  I understand that it is recommended for a number of reasons, but I would like to know if the DNS SRV record for automatic client sign-in points the LCS 2005 server, will it successfully redirect it for those users homed in the OCS 2007 pool?

Or would it be better to have the SRV record point to the OCS 2007 pool, and have it re-direct the sign-in requests to the LCS 2005 pool for those users homed in the LCS 2005 pool?

    Thanks,

  • FYI -

I was able to talk to a Microsoft Senior Escalation Engineer who confirmed that it would be better to have the OCS 2007 pool re-direct the requests to the LCS 2005 SP1 pool/server (for those users homed on the LCS 2005 server).

Having the automatic client sign-in point to the LCS 2005 SP1 server and have it redirect any OCS 2007 users to the OCS 2007 pool/server is apparently doable, but not supported.
