MCDST Upgrade to incorporate Windows 7 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello

I have the MCDST and I would like to upgrade the cert to include windows 7.  I have been looking on the certification site and I am not sure which exams I need to sit to achieve this.

    Can anyone advise?

    thanks

  • Unfortunately there is no upgrade path.

You have to do the full path. 70-680 & 70-685. Then you have to get a certification from HDI as well.

  • According to this blog post that may change: http://borntolearn.mslearn.net/2009/12/are-you-certifiable-2

"Jim: Yes, we are creating an exam so that either XP DST’s or Vista EDST’s can take this one exam and become MCTS: Windows 7, Enterprise Desktop Support Technician certified. This upgrade exam will be out in early 2010."

I think the MCTS part is a mistake and Jim means MCITP:EDST

  • Obiviously ,there are no upgrade exam currently available for MCDST to WIndows 7.

So,you can directly consider about MCITP: Enterprise Desktop Administrator 7 ,that is to say ,you can directly apply 70-680 and 70-686.

Whatever path  you take will promise you the same cert.
