• May I know what's the usage and default value of ServiceConfiguration.ServiceHostIdleTimeout? Could you point to some links or documentations?

Currently we have long running process but it is gone after 1 hour. It happens on HPC 2016 not on HPC 2012. Is it because of this setting? Should I set it in the service registration file for larger value, for example 24 days?

  • May I get some help on this setting? What is the default value? Can I set it to 0 or -1 to disable this timeout?

    Many thanks.

  • Hi danieljzhang,

ServiceHostIdleTimeout is default to 3600000 ms = 60 minutes. It only triggers when the service host has processed all requests and idled for the time span. After this, the service host would exit automatically. Your long running request should not be the case. You may try increase the timeout value or set it to -1 for infinite.
