Port Forwarding Error RRS feed

  • Question

  • Greetings,

My router (Telus Siemens Gigaset SE567) doesn't support UPnP, so I am trying to forward ports manually.

I tried to forward ports 80, 443, and 4125 following the instructions at portForward.com; however, I got an error message saying "One or more of the requested ports is already allocated for system use". Does this mean that these ports can't be forwarded? Is there another way around this?

  • I got a similar message on my TP Link router but it worked. Meaning I could safely ignore the message.

  • I was able to forward ports after turning UPnP off.
