R2 Clients on 2007 Backend RRS feed

  • We have an Office 2007 backed infrastructure and all of the clients are currnently running OC 2007/Live Meeting 2007, as well as the Outlook plugin.

    I have upgraded my client to the 2007 R2 versions and am running without issue. I am just wondering if there are any potential issues with upgrading everyone else to Live Meeting/OC 2007 R2 but leave the back end at 2007.  Anybody have any ideas on this? Thanks

    I have checked everywhere and so far nobody is facing any problem same to your envionment. You have happily use R2 client with OCS 2007 backend.

  • One potential issue to be aware of. The Communicator R2 release notes describes a problem with incoming calls when using the R2 client against an OCS 2007 backend.  More troubling is the resolution.  I have used R2 Communicator against an OCS 2007 backend with most of the functionality however, and have not had any problems.


    Office Communicator 2007 R2 Is Incompatible with Office Communications Server 2007

    Issue: Office Communicator 2007 R2 users who are logged on to an Office Communications Server 2007 computer see incorrect behavior during incoming calls. For example, clicking "answer call" on the incoming call system alert does not result in an audio conversation, the user gets disabled call control regions, and the call is disconnected after some time.

    Resolution: Do not use Office Communicator 2007 R2 with Office Communications Server 2007.

  • Thanks for the answers. When you mean making calls, is this when we are tied into a pbx, or when we make the pc to pc calls that allow voice and video within the communicator client?
