Is editing the Dashboard ribbon supported? RRS feed

  • I would like to make changes to the ribbon using the Visual Ribbon editor for CRM2011, but not sure.

  • I used it without a problem, it just edits the xml definition of the ribbon, just as you can do it manually. I would also recommend Ribbon Workbanch.

    You may use the ribbon editor to make the changes in ribbon editor.It's supported too

  • What would you like to do to the Dashboard ribbon? The Ribbon Workbench will allow you to add buttons or change existing ones.

  •  I would recommend you to use  Ribbon Workbanch if you are doing menu button customization else use Ribbon Editor.

  • Thanks for the reply everyone, I want to add buttons to the top that create new custom records for entities I created. I'm worried that after an upgrade I'll lose this functionality.

  • When you say Upgrade - are you talking about upgrading to the next version of Dynamics? The Application Bar will replace the Ribbon it is true - however there is a supported upgrade path.
