Power Pack 1 problem RRS feed

  • Question

From one of my client computers I am getting the yellow shaded Home Server icon stating network health at risk.  For whatever reason it has to do with my server public folder which contains only one folder of printer drivers for a Canon printer which I had on the server before installing Power Pack 1 yesterday and it has been on the server for weeks with no problem.

For whatever reason I cannot delete the folder or the files within the folder and I do not comprehend why they would possibly cause a problem and why I cannot delete them to fix the problem.  The status of the public folder is Failing.

I just wondered what I might possibly do to correct this problem.

  • Try this:

    1.  Create a new shared folder called - "Canon" or something of your choosing, via the Windows Home Server Console

    2.  Assign the user that you are using to have "Full" access rights to this new shared folder

    3.  Log off your PC and log back in with that user name

    4.  Copy the files from the "Pubic" shared folder to the new "Canon" shared folder

    5.  Delete the files from the "Public" shared folder after you double-check that you did the copy and it succeeded.
