Integration of CUCM and OCS with a director RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

Our customer has a different pools of OCS users and different pool of servers. Every MOC users connect to a pool of directors.

We have to do an integration with a Cisco Telephony. The CUCM cluster will not be splitted like the OCS pool.  So our concern is will the CUPS server works if we connect it directly to the director? Does anyone have experience with that? Is it supported by both Cisco and Microsoft?

    Thank you in advance!

  • Hi,

I did this kind of integration, it works: RCC integration with CUPS doesn't imply director, only Front end servers. RCC configuration is done on FE (host autorization and route definition).
CUPS ACL are configured with Front End IPs.

  • yeah.. director is not required in this case.

You can look at this page to know how to configure OCS for it..

  • Unfortunately our customer has already deployed the director in their design as they have a lot of pool of users and sip domains. So I cannot remove the directors. Any idea if this works with the directors?

  • Hi,

We didn't say it won't work if directors are deployed in the architecture, we just said that directors are not involved in RCC operation. So you can keep your directors for what they are used for, and you will only have to configure your RCC route and authorization with Front End IPs, not directors IPs.
