Now I have a note in the bottom right of my desktop showing "Windows 7, Build 7600, This copy of Windows is not genuine". Ran the MGA Diagnostics Tool, the results are below.  Please help.

When I start the computer, I get a message say that Windows may not be genuine. It has an option to "Ignore" or "Get Genuine". When selecting "Get Genuine" I get a Windows Activation error message, Code: 0x80070005, Description: Access is Denied.

I suspect that the problem is with the Software Protection Service – or with the files it needs to modify to do its job.

    Click on Start
    in the Search box, type
    SERVICES.MSC
and hit the Enter key - accept the UAC prompt if you get one.
Look in the console for the Software Protection service, right-click on it and select Properties.
make sure that the Startup Type is set to Automatic (Delayed Start), and click Apply.

Try starting the service now - do you get an error message? Does it start? does it almost immediately stop again?
Post back with your results, and a new MGADiag report.

If it doesn't start, then please do the following...
Please open an Elevated (Administrator) Command Prompt window and use the following commands....

    net start sppsvc
    sc qc sppsvc
    sc queryex sppsvc
    sc qprivs sppsvc
    sc qsidtype sppsvc
    sc sdshow sppsvc

copy and paste the results into your response, together with the EXACT error message you get when you attempt to start the service from the Services control panel..

Please check the Properties of the System32 folder – specifically, is it marked as Hidden in the properties dialogue??

With a ‘blob’? – or with a tick?
A ‘blob’ is normal – because some of the files in it are supposed to be Read-Only
If it’s marked with a tick, then remove the tick by click on it, then click Apply, and accept the warnings – this should reset it back to normal for applicable files (it may be worth trying it even with a blob)
