  • Hi,

I am unable to understand your issue: Is it that you cannot connect to CRM 2011 online or you just want a general picture?

I will anyways throw some light.

In CRM 2011 online, you cannot get direct access to the database. You cannot access SQL database server as you would do if it was installed on your local server.

When you say you are using a trial version, I am assuming you must have registered for a free trial account with Microsoft? In that case Microsoft would have set up a trial CRM 2011 online link.

So can you open that in your IE browser? As per reports, in CRM online there is a reports section in your "Workplace" area. You can go there and play around with existing reports or create your own report through simple wizard steps. If you want to custom develop your custom reports in Visual studio then you have to use Fetch XML (Microsoft's proprietary CRM language)

Please let me know if you need more help.

I hope this helps. If my response answered your question, please mark the response as an answer and also vote as helpful.
