Moving a win10 install from mbr to gpt RRS feed

    My motherboard needs to be replaced. My main drive is a hdd set to mbr. The current plan is to migrate that drive to the new motherboard and get everything up and running, then make an image backup. If I were to install a new win10 into a ssd using gpt, would I be able to use the image backup to restore the mbr image but still be able to boot as gpt? The partition for the c: drive in the hdd is the same size as the ssd.
