Annoying alert when external disks plugged into clients RRS feed

  • Question

  • I regularly use a USB external hard disk for backups.

The problem is whenever it is plugged into any one of the desktops a MHS popup appears on all desktops warning me that the new drive is not configured to be backed up by MHS.

I would like to be able to disable the prompt after viewing the drive details in question. In othern words yes, display the prompt with every new disk discovery but then allow the user to disable the popup (which appears on EVERY online desktop) once they have reviewed the drive and decided not to back it up.

The popup becomes very annoying in a short time considering it pops up on all desktops on the network.

  • I couldn't agree more. I had several External HD's plugged into different computers over the weekend and was quite annoyed with the popup.

  • Same here, alert should only appear on the client where the external drive is plugged in not the whole network, this should alo be a configurable alert ie Yes/No
