  • I have a 500mb external drive plug & play, computer does not recognize it.

  • The questions Jim asked earlier in this thread apply to you, too.

    There are two main reasons why an external drive may not be seen by OneCare as a valid destination for backup:

    1. It is eSATA, which OneCare sees as an internal drive

    2. Some other software is taking ownership of the drive for other purposes, hence there is a conflict.

    If neither of these apply, please contact support for help.

  • Hello Jack, how does your external drive connect, is it USB, Firewire or e-sata? Is it connected directlyto your computer or is it connected to a hub? Can you see the drive in Windows Explorer ( My Computer ) but not in One Care?

  • I have a 500mb external drive plug & play.  When I setup backup it will not give me a choice to back up to it.  How can I select the drive at setup?
