Validation Problems Ultimate Office 2007 RRS feed

  • Question

  •

    Hi,

My copy of Ultimate Office 2007 will not validate. It is activated. Tried the "Next Steps". It won't locate the file. I'm running as administrator as I've tried the IE thing. There are no other users on my computer. Hope you can help.

    Thanks!

  • i had to perform an advance search on the file "Opa12.dat". selected the "include non index......" box. the file came up. followed the link in the folder. it brought me to the file. deleted it. opened word and it activated. then when to the office website to download the add-in "save as pdf..." it validated. so it works now.

  • DE88,

Your issue appears to be outside the scope of the Genuine Advantage forum. In an attempt to assist I would like to provide the following steps:

    1.

Click Start, and then click Computer.

    2.

On the Organize menu, click Folder and Search Options.

    3.

On the View tab, click Show hidden files and folders, and then click OK.

To delete the Opa12.dat file, follow these steps:

    1.

Click Start. In the Search box, type %programdata%, and then press ENTER.

    2.

    Double-click the Microsoft folder.

    3.

    Double-click the Office folder.

    4.

Double-click the Data folder, right-click the Opa12.dat file in that folder, and then click Delete.

Important Do not delete the Opa12.bak file.

    5.

    Close the Windows Explorer window.

    6.

Start a 2007 Office program to start the 2007 Office Activation Wizard.

Please re-post should you require additional guidance. You may also reference the following knowledge base (KB) article:  http://support.microsoft.com/kb/919895/en-us  which provides additional troubleshooting steps concerning this issue.

  • hi,

thank you for your response. i followed the instructions. however, what i see is "Microsoft Office" and "Microsoft Tools" folders. these folders only contain shortcuts. there isn't a "Microsoft" folder.
