Firewall On or Off? RRS feed

  • My onecare says that the firewall is active, but on nummerous programs it shows that it is off.  Media Player for instance says that the firewall has been turned off.  Can u help me with this?

    Thank you for visiting the OneCare program forums.

     

    Please do the following:

     

    1.  Close Windows Media Player

    2.  Launch OneCare

    3.  Click on Change Settings

    4.  Under the Firewall Tab, click Advanced Settings

    5. Scroll all the way down until you see Windows Media Player

    6.  Check to make sure that Windows Media Player is set to Allow and not Block.

    7. Click OK

    8. Click OK

    9. Open Windows Media Player to check that the message does not come up.

    1 .     Click Contact support in the middle of the webpage

    2 .     Click Contact Support  in the bottom right corner of the webpage

    3 .     Click Get support

    4 .     Select the Billing Support or Technical Support Bubble

    5.     Answer the questions appropriately, you will be guided to an agent if you have a paid subscription or email support if you have a trial version.
