Presence/Status discrepany between outlook 2007 and MOC client RRS feed

    Hi,

     

    I need to understand how MOC and outlook sync presence? How does outlook update the presence from MOC?

     

    The reason I am asking is due to many users has noticed discrepancy between MOC status and outlook. In outlook and while sending a mail to user you see his status green and when you go to MOC to send him IM you find that he is offline.

     

    The option under outlook client options/other/Person Names is checked.

     

    The issue was troubleshooted with Microsoft engineer and was fixed by re-installing office communicator client.

     

    What I need to know why this suddenly happenned to many users? How can this fixed or troubleshooted on the PC?
