Bulk collection creation in System Center for Configuration Manager (SCCM) RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have a requirement to create around 2 Lakhs of user/device collections in SCCM.

I'm using a power shell command to create the user collection

    New-CMUserCollection -Name "Sales"-LimitingCollectionName "All Users"

Looping the above command to create 1,00,000. But the issue is, this command creates collections till around 30k and there after it stops creating, also when I try to view the successfully created 30k collections in SCCM console, I'm seeing the "Loading" message and it never loads.

Is this the issue with SCCM console or the way I create the collections?

    SCCM version : 1606

    Console Version : 5.0.8412.1307

    Site Version : 5.0.8412.1000

Windows : Windows Server 2012 R2 Standard (64 bit OS)

    RAM : 8 GB
