MS CRM Reports not working from clients RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi

Got a MS CRM 4.0 running on one server and the MS SQL and Report Server on another server. MS CRM works fine but the reports only work if I run them on one of the CRM or SQL server and not from a klient. I get the normal error message that I must contact my administrater and then bla bla bla....

    Any suggestions?

  • It turned out to be a kerberos problem.

Thank you all for your suggestions :-)

  • go to your report and click on edit report

in second tab " with name administrator as i think " check if you select organization for the report or not

  • Well this sounds like an 401 issue, you have to use CRMdiagtool to enable "DevErrors" in Web.Config file, this will allow you to see the full described error.

  • wael_e << The settings look correct. All reports are organization viewable by organization.

  • h. Smajlovic << It does look like a 401 issue. The diagtool however does not catch this error but the windows event log did:

Web service request SetParameters to Report Server http://012s020v03/reportserver failed. Error: The request failed with HTTP status 401: Unauthorized.

I'm just not sure what needs to be changed so that reports can be run from a client.

  • This sounds like a delegation issue. Have you installed the CRM RS Connector ?

  • From what I understand CRM RS Connector is only needed if the Report Server is not running on the MS CRM or SQL Server or am I mistaken? In my case the Report Server is running on the SQL Server.

  • hi Christian,

How did you resolve it exactly ? Did you just add support for kerberos in the web app, or in reporting services as well ?

I am stuck scrathing my head for hours now looking at all the available entry points !
