some links to training material can be found on the official
MTA site. Normally, if you have some basic understanding of the specific area it would be enough to pass the exam. An example, if you're already familiar with software development it should be no problem to pass the Software Development Fundamentals exam.
MTAs are just an entry-level certification, which was originally developed for students. With that the level of MOST of the questions are at a low level, BUT some questions are hard to answer (I had some of them in the HTML5 App Development Fundamentals
exam).
