ocs federation between 2 trusted domains - features RRS feed

  • Question

  • We plan the deployment of the OCS 2007 R2. There are two (or more) trusted domains. The domains are in different forests with external trust in both directions. Are desktop sharing, video and audio connections possible between the users in different domains with ocs federation?

  • It's worth pointing out that the non-IM features require more than just the Access Edge role to function, so understand that the 'Federation' feature built into the Access Edge (running on 5061 by default) covers only just federated Presence/IM.

If you want to support Live Meeting you'll need the Web Conferencing Edge, and if you want to support Desktop Sharing or Audio/Video sessions you'll also need the A/V Edge role (Desktop Sharing sessions are RDP over SRTP).

  • Bad news.

We are three different companies, work however on spreading projects. For the developers a great solution would be been. Unfortunately we should cancel the deploment of the OCS and search for a other solution.
