When I edit a file (Word or Excel) from my Live Mesh folder and attempt to save it, I receive a message "cannot complete the save due to a file permisson error". Thsi problem occurs on different file types and irrespective of whether I have uploaded the file directly to my Live desktop or dragged it into my Mesh folder from a synced device
Are you opening the file from the Live Desktop view in your web browser or from the Mesh folder on the PC in Windows Explorer? If the former, you cannot save a file in this manner, as it exists only in the temporary Internet files. You need to download the file locally, then open it, or use Save As... to save a copy locally. If you open the file in Windows Explorer or using File/Open from the program and selecting the local file from the Mesh folder on the PC and then try to save after an edit, right click the file and check the permissions. -steve~ Microsoft MVP Windows Live ~ Windows Live OneCare| Live Mesh|MS Security Essentials Forums Moderator ~
