MCITP = 'Pro' MCSA = 'Associate' however both require the same three exams! RRS feed

    Soooo trying to work out what my tittle would be when i finally pass my three main MS exams, 70-640,642 & 646. From looking at the MS website MS aren’t even sure.. Completing the above three exams would make me both a MCITP and an MCSA, however MCITP is considered ’expert’ level whereas MCSA is just ‘associate’ level. Ruddy stupid.

    I think that those two are more or less equal, if you recall the old one MCSE it was much more complex than current MCITP (i would say MCITP is as complex as was old 2003 MCSA).

    As an expert level you can consider the master exam, not ITPRO

    You cant rely on any diagram, you can find on the web. ITPRO is relatively easy to achieve, with a lot of products just 2 exams are required.

    You will get following certifications:
    MCITP: Server Administrator on Windows Server 2008
    MCSA: Microsoft Certified Solutions Assoicate (MCITP Enterprise and Server Administrators get this cert by default)

    In other words your title will probably be "MCITP: Server Administrator on Windows Server 2008"

    Yup I understand that Bano, its just daft. MS describe the two differently but in reality they are not.

    MCSA:

    Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) certifications validate the core technical skills required to build a sustainable career in IT. MCSA opens the door to multiple career paths and is a requirement for MCSE certifications. Previous versions of this certification were called Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator and demonstrated the ability to administrate network and systems environments running Windows Sever 2003 (and earlier).

    MCITP:

    Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP) certifications recognize IT professionals who demonstrate skills in planning, deploying, supporting, maintaining, and optimizing IT infrastructures.

    I just feel as if MS have dropped the ball, it would of been a smarter move to hold off on renaming untill Windows8 & Server 2012  were out and MCSA/E required you passed exams in these products and start a fresh.
