Opportunity Save Deactivate/Reactivate Event Does not Fire on CRM 2013 RRS feed

  • Question

  • In CRM 2011 when in an Opportunity form, clicking Close as Won/Lost fired an OnSave script with a getSaveMode = 5.

    Using Re-activate raised OnSave with a getSaveMode = 6.

In CRM 2013 OnSave Close as Won/Lost does not fire the above event. If there is data to be saved then CRM will first perform a Save (Mode=1) then display the Won/Close dialog box. Once you click OK in this dialog box no form OnSave event is called, unlike in CRM 2011.

Clicking Reopen in CRM 2013 calls the OnSave with Save Mode = 1, not 6!

We have custom JavaScript that needs to know the action the user has performed to validate action, but this is no longer working in CRM 2013 since the SaveMode is either always 1 = Save, or OnSave is not even called if the user has not changed any data!

Is this a bug on a new "working as designed"?

The only way around this as far as I can see is to move the code into a plugin & raise an error if the validation fails.
