Ensure synchronization RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi everyone!

I'm using Live Mesh from more than a year now, and it woks quite well, at least for my needs.
    I only have two questions:

    1. How can I be sure that a given client is synched with Live Desktop (or other clients if p2p sync)?
    2. Is there a way to manually "force" the sync start? (I.E.: synch now button)
    Thanks.

  • There is no way to force a sync. And, the only way to be sure that the various PCs are in sync is to check the notifier - which isn't really the best indication, but if you expect a PC to have received an updated copy of a file, the notifier on that PC will advise you of this. When I've encountered Live Mesh not updating, I was able to see that the last entry for the file in question was not showing the last update information expected on the target PC based on a change on the source PC. In that case, rebooting usually got things going again right away. A better solution would be an option to force a sync to start and that doesn't currently exist.
