Font ‘Arial’ does not support style ‘Regular...

Question

I have to start at the beginning. I have an Acer VGA 32 bit color 15" external 1600 X 1200 res. 75 hz monitor (V173 is a possible model number printed on the upper right corner of the monitor itself). It's plugged into a 2 port VGA switch along with my 52" Westinghouse HDMI smart TV. Today my AMD software attempted to download "Driver Detective" I assumed to check for updated drivers but it didn't install. Instead, it said, " Font ‘Arial’ does not support style ‘Regular." And asked me to change the Windows font so it could continue installing itself. I've heard that the Arial font isn't supported in all font sizes, or that them link to it isn't working, everything except a resolution to my issue. I wouldn't bother at all if it wasn't for the fact that when detecting the different monitor properties after switching from one monitor to the other It usually gets the Acer's properties wrong and despite my best efforts I'm unable to change the driver provided ( AMD Radeon HD 6200 series Graphics driver) which is the driver for my mobile built-in 13" ASUS 60 Hz laptop screen! Any information regarding the Windows 77 font from Arial to whatever works would be appreciated. Come to think of it, I recently purchased an HDMI cable (has a single beveled edge on each end), and plugged it into the "HDMI 2" slot on my laptop and got it to work the first time but to no avail since. While writing thhis to you I just realized that my HDMI TV is plugged into both my laptop via HDMI cable, and to my 2 port VGA switch. Wouldn't it be nice if simply unplugging the VGA cable were to cure all my ills? Yea, never gonna happen, but one can always hope!
Best Regards,
Devin57

I'd try asking driver detective about the software install issue.

This doesn't look like a Application Insights question. Can you try Windows drivers/fonts forums?Thursday, October 6, 2016 5:08 PM

Hi Devin57,
UWP forums is mainly about discussing developing issues. At present I can't find a proper forum for your issue and I'll move your thread to Where is the Forum for and I think the staff there will give you a right direction. Thanks for your understanding.
