purchased a laptop with windows 7 found out was not genuine RRS feed

  • i bought a fairly new laptop which had windows 7 installed. i did not know it was not genuine. i have done all i can to give microsoft any info. regardless they want me to purchase a genuine 7, which i cannot afford and they dont seem concerned with my problem just getting any info they need and then not providing any solutions

  • If you want further confirmation of what you have been told then download and run the Genuine Diagnostics tool (MGADiag.exe) at this link http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52012. Click "Continue", click the "Copy" button then “Paste” the report into a reply message in this thread.

    If you are just looking for an alternative to buying a new copy of Windows, we cannot help you.  That is the only resolution to the counterfeit problem.

  • This is not passing the buck, we need the Diagnostic Report, it's the only way we will know how to help you.

    Follow Cbarnhorst's directions (Ignore any errors) and post the report in this thread. We will help you as best we can when that is done.
