    All -

    I have been trying to get this feature installed. I have added SRV records for _sipinternaltls (port 5061) in the three DNS zones that i have, i have also added A records for the pool server in all three zones. Am i missing something - maybe the way i have added the records was incorrect?

    Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.

    This information might help you walk through the process to identify the issue.  There are multiple steps to setting up the Automatic Configuration, but the SRV records (if correctly created) will be used to connect first.

    Jeff,  I have seen your blog on this but I am slightly confused.  I only have _sip not sip so is this still a potential issue>?  I am getting those errors in dns but I cannot get automatic configuration to work.  Right now I just have a _sipinternaltls record.  Do you know what else I need?  I also have an a-host pointing to my pool but it does not start with "sip".  Please advise if you can.  I am really stumped.

    The _sipinternaltls SRv records points to a DNS A record, which should the same record that points to either a Standard Edition server or Enterprise Edition pool FQDN.  The SRV record and A record must use same SIP domain, some examples would be:

     

    Standard Edition Front-End server:

    SRV: _sipinternaltls._tcp.contoso.com --> ocsserver.contoso.com

    A: ocsserver.contoso.com --> 172.16.103.1

     

    Enterprise Edition Front-End pool (with virtual IP address for HLB)

    SRV: _sipinternaltls._tcp.contoso.com --> ocspool.contoso.com

    A: ocspool.contoso.com --> 172.16.10.10
