Recently my computer(HP compaq - windows vista home premium) was subjected to a virus attack and after resolving it i rebooted my computer. That time it asked for product key for activation . i found it in my laptop and when i typed it said your product key has been expired and from that the below display appears in right bottom of screen "WINDOWS 6200 THIS COPY OF WINDOWS IS NOT GENUINE"
Plz find the diagnosis report below and suggest me a solution to get rid of this display.

I think you may have misunderstood the error message. The Product Key on the sticker on the side or bottom of the computer has not "Expired". When Windows needs to be Activated, it will give a Grace Period to allow the user to Acticate before Windows will go into a Non-genuine state. I believe that the message you received was that the Grace Period has expired (not the Product key).
In addition, when using the key on the sticker on the computer, Activation must be done thru the Activate by Phone method.
Would you attempt to Activate by Phone and tell me if this resolves the issue?
Thank you, Darin MS
