  • Hello, Jake_9794

You will need to contact your manufacturer regarding a new key. That being said, please run the Genuine Diagnostics tool at the following link so that we may see why you are unable to activate: http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52012

After running the program, click Copy and then paste the full log here.

does this ever work, out of interest ? Or do you get told to call Microsoft or the Retailer ?

It depends on the manufacturer as to whether they record your Key on their records, and whether they will give you either that Key or another on request. MS cannot issue you another key unless you purchase the product.
