Edge setup using Non-default ports RRS feed

  • Question

  •

We have an server OCS setup and working, and we would now like to provide external user access to IM and Web confrencing.

My issue is that our ISP only provides us with a single static IP and cannot provide any additional external IPs.

Is there any documentation regarding setting up the edge & external clients to use non-standard ports?

    Can this be done?

  • Not sure it is possible with 1 IP adress.

Why can't your ISP provide more IP adress?  It should cost a bit more but our ISP should permit to have more than 1 IP adress.

  • Our ISP does not offer more than one IP address on the current product, to get the additional IP addresses we have to change from Wireless to SHDSL which is significantly more expensive than the current offering (Ii will increase our current internet spend by up to 40%).

Even moving ISPs we cannot get additional IPs unless we're willing to pay for a more expensive product - we're not really spoilt for choice in New Zealand...

It's just annoying as other countries I have worked in do not have this limitation.
