Security trimmer for ASPX Search RRS feed

  • Question

  • hello

perhaps there is a misunderstanding in using search server but this is my situation:

I do have a web application where I could upload some files. With Search Server I index the files on file system and do have an index. Now I developed for a web application an ASPX site, where I use the Search Community Toolkit DotNetSearchControls. It works fine I get search results. But in the web application every user has several roles and depending on the roles he is allowed to see some files and sometimes the user is not allowed to see other files which are currently coming back from search server in the result.

So I thought I use a custom security trimmer which checks the result and deletes the items which the user is not allowed to see. But until now I am not able to parse any credentials to the custom security trimmer which are necessary to check each result item. I think because the ASPX is a website outside search server the search server is using the user who is logged in on the search server but not the user who is logged in in the web application.

How could I solve this? Is security trimmer the way I should use or do I have to go another way - if so which way?

Thanks for any hints or explanations!

    Best regards
