  • hi. we are an international organization and our business units on Dynamics CRM are our different brunches across the world. I would like to know how can I assign leads, opportunities, contacts. accounts and cases acorrding to the owner brunch. I do not that employees from one brunch will be able to see info from another brunch, but inside a spcific brunch, all employees must have access to the brunch's info. I hope that I am clear. please your help is needed.

  • Hi Inwise,

    Unfortunately, There is no assignment based on BU's.

    Each record in CRM has a reference to business unit. This BU is actually owner's BU. So when you change owner BU association will change. In CRM 2011 you can create teams in BU's and then assign records to those teams. In this way you can persist BU reference on each record.

    In CRM 4, you can probably create a static user for each BU and then assign all records to that user. In case other users want to manipulate that record use share functionality to share record between more than one users.
