  • Every anti virus has some loop hole. Some can and some cannot detect one or other.

Try Avast Home edition as it is free edition for home use and also every day the database is updated almost.

To avoid viruses just be careful with pen drives.Just right click on the drive and click open instead of directly opening them and falling as a prey for autorun.inf file.

  • No Doubt, Norton Antivirus is one of the best antivirus.

    Works really well..

Remember : To keep your system more secure, include a Firewall as well. Your system would be much safer.

    ZoneAlarm would do the job.

  • The best anti-virus is nothing.

No anti-virus can detect all viruses so use atleast 2 anti-viruses.

Use Kasperskey & NOD.  They are the best

  • Hi Tom

I use McAfee and since the last update McAfee does perform an update each time you start your computer, furthermore they have now also an add in called SiteAdvisor which gives you warnings when going to a particular internet page, it already saved me a lot of time because it warned me for hidden mal and spamware on these pages.

It does not effect the speed of my computer and never (so far) crashed on me or caused any problem, but as sayed by the others it is an personal choise.

  • I've been using Computer Associates Internet Security Suite for 3 years now and its keeping my computer safe.

I did get an infection once but their support helped me get rid of it by remotely connecting to my computer. Thats what I would recommend anyone looking for security program which, as per their website, offers $10000 coverage if your system gets infected after you have installed it!

    Can't think of anything better.

CA Internet Security Suite Plus v7

You can compare other security programs at getsupport.webs.com
