Need to validate Windows on self created software RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi All,

I'm writing my own software, but as I work for a PC reseller, I don't want my software to be installed on a non-genuine version of Windows. I need a way (preferibly silent/in the background) to validate a Windows version prior to running the installer, and/or a way to silently check genuinity from within my software.

I'v tried WGAdiag.exe, which DOES provide a way to check for validity, but it has no silent mode...

In other words, I would like to incorporate WGA check in my software, like IE7 installation does.

Maybe ther is a WMI path that tells if the software in genuine?

    Can anyone help me?

    Thank you in advance,
