Process editing error: Process cannot be updated becasue it was created out side of the web applicaiton RRS feed

  • Question

  • 2013 Update 3, On Premise

I get this error consistently when I use an IF condition in a process. It does not mater if it's a new process or one I opened to edit.

    ERROR

This process cannot be created, updated, or activated because it was created outside the Microsoft Dynamics CRM Web application.  Your organization does not allow this type of process.

I've looked at the log file and there's nothing other than the same error message in it.

I have to delete the process and recreate if with the adjusted IF filtering. Since some processes can be complex this is a huge pain point for us.

I've seen community Q&A on this however there does not seem to be a solution.

  • This issue was reported in CRM 2011 as well but was fixed in UR 15 http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2843571/en-us

Check if enabling XAML workflows can help http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/8da8c71e-84af-441e-b99b-0b59399f10f6#enable_disable

Reaching out to the MS support team would be a good idea.

  • Thanks we are using 2013 and we are on update 3.

We are only using the process UI for editing.  We are not exporting the process and changing it in Visual Studio.

How would you advise me to reach out to the MS Support team?

  • I had meant to say that similar issue was seen in the earlier version and was fixed by MS as part of a roll-up.

    Check 'contact support' @  http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics/crm-customer-center/product-support.aspx
