Live Mesh + Windows XP Pro x64

Hi,
I am trying to add a device running Windows XP Professional x64 Edition to my Live Desktop. Live Mesh offers a choice of downloading one of two softwares: one for Windows XP and Vista 32-bit and one for Windows Vista 64-bit. What does one use with Windows XP 64-bit?Monday, May 12, 2008 1:46 PM

I don't believe XP 64 is supported. From what I've seen recently the only 64 bit OS that MS are supporting with their newer products is Vista64.

It makes you wonder why they don't support XP 64 bit. I'm sure the Vista package doesn't need to be changed a lot to accommodate XP. XP isn't a dead bird yet. It still accommodates a majority of the population out there for users...Thursday, June 19, 2008 5:07 AM

XP 64 bit is related to the Windows Server 2003 code. Server OS' of all flavors are not yet supported. XP 64 bit and Vista 64 bit are completely different animals as far as the code base, so it could well be a big deal to port the client to XP 64 bit.

I also miss the mesh client for Windows XP Professional x64. I consider it completely unprofessional that very good client OS is not supported.Tuesday, September 16, 2008 1:20 PM

I agree, I'm still waiting for XP Pro 64 Bit support as well. It's little things like this that bug me and make we wish I had stayed on 32 bit.Tuesday, September 30, 2008 9:42 PM

This should support xp64 as well.
On my laptop, and home computer I have vista, but at work I will be using xp64 at least until windows 7 is released.Friday, January 9, 2009 1:00 PM
