MSS2004 vs OCS 2007 RRS feed

  • Question

  • We had an IVR developed using MSS 2004 in may 2006. The application has been running well since it went live. Now we are planning another IVR application and found the speech server 2007 has been migrated into OCS 2007. Several questions about this change:

    1. What are the major new features speech server 2007 has comparing to the MSS 2004 ? This will help us to decide whether we should go for the 2007.

    2. From the information I got, OCS 2007 has much more functions than just speech server 2007. If we just use the speech server, do we have to buy the whole OCS 2007 ?

    3. Is Microsoft going to continue supporting the MSS2004 ? How hard to upgrade the MSS2004 application to OCS 2007 application ?

    Thanks in advance.

  • Off the top of my head:

    • Major new features: Workflow development of Apps, VoiceXML app support, VoIP support.
    • I don't know the asnwer to that question right now.
    • Yes. You can run your app as is on MSS 2007 as long as it's on a separate webserver.
