Live.com SPAM RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello!

    I'll try to be nice.
Today within 6 hours my page got 600+ hits and still counting(!!!) from live.com. Logs show that the page is getting hit by two words. Two MAIN words for my website. Should i mention that all the IP's belong to MS?

Now i would have understand if this was bot crawling page, but its obviously not a bot. Each time a hit is made ALL the files (css, js, images,...) are download which results in huge amount of bandwidth.

Now before i go further with this *** i would like to hear from MS what is this and how to stop it.

Did i miss somewhere in your TOS where it says that you are allowed to SPAM my page? This clearly is nothing else then pure SPAM!

Is MSN/Live bot really that ***? Time to block MSN?

PS: I'm sorry if this kind of topic already exist..

  • So this is "quality control" thing? What i don't get is why on earth do you need CSS, javascripts and images for doing quality control Tongue Tied
I would really want an explanation what the point of this.

  • Crusty, Live.com is not spam - it's a search engine. Maybe you could explain us what kind of automated software you use to generate thousands of scrapper pages in a very short time on your web site? Most of us spend hours to generate quality content on our sites, but you guys take a shortcut (easy way). I've noticed that many scrapper sites steal quality content from Palluxo! through RSS, which we use to provide services to our iPhone and iPod touch users.

  • I have the same problem. My Stats show that LIVE is spamming my web site for 2 main keywords. This is messing up our statistics and had been going on for a week now.

Do we have to request that the hosting service block all traffic from LIVE?

    What is the solution?

Ip List ... just a small clip from 1 day

These are the IPS from March 23
